I have few good places around my house which I never noticed or bothered to visit in the last two and a half years of stay in Thoraipakkam OMR Chennai.
So I started getting up early in the morning around 5 and go for a walk, observe them before the human machinery hung into action engulfing them and me.
Today I went to periphery of the Pallikarnai Marshland, the area near shollinganallur behind the big IT offices. I saw lot of birds and many would be migratory. I do not know their names or species but with my description one friend told me that one of the birds was pelican. It was dark when I walked to that place around 5 AM but slowly as time passed the marsh emerged in light dotted with white, greenish and more birds. I observed them playing, eating, diving into water and remaining under it for 10 seconds or so. May be she was searching for food or taking bath early morning..:)
Some were different from the others, you could notice few only when they fly as their color camouflage them in the background of greenish marsh. When they fly past you, you could notice the effort they make to fly or sometimes the effortless glide. With differing bill shape and size , the color etc. It looked to as a fair but a busy day had started for the birds in Pallikarnai.
I am putting few pics that my mobile camera enabled me to take as a memory of those peaceful moments that I spent with myself and mother nature.

धीरे धीरे अँधेरे कि चादर उतरती हुई.. आप देख सकते हैं इन तारों के जंजाल को जो कि प्रकृति पर इंसान के जबरजस्ती कब्जे का प्रतीत सी जान पड़ती हैं।

बेचारा मासूम कुत्ता रोड दुर्घटना में मारा गया, इसका फॉसिल बन जाता अगर ये धरती में काफी नीचे दबा होता लेकिन ऐसा नहीं होपायेगा। रोड थोडा कम चौड़ी है यहाँ पर और गाड़ियां काफी तेज चलती है।

पल्लिकर्णि दल दल में सुबह का कोताहल दिखने लगा है। पर मेरा बेचारा कैमरा इनकी गति के साथ इन्हे कैद न कर पाया।

यहाँ अजीब से पत्ते और घांस जैसा दिख रहा था. गीला गीला सा हर ओर। बहुत सरे पक्षी उनके रंग कि वजह से वातावरण में दिखाई ही नहीं देते जब तक वो कुछ हरकत न करे।

Many parts of this marshland seems to have been sold to the construction companies and builders. Big plot have been created with water filled withing the boundary walls as if waiting for that to dry up. The land also dried by dumping destroying the habitat of many organism.
बड़ी बड़ी इमारतों ने इस जगह पर दलदलीय क्षेत्र पर कब्ज़ा सा जमाया हुआ है। आस पास कई बड़ी बड़ी इमारतें हैं और काफी सारी और बन रही है। ज़मीन को सुखाने के लिए बहार कि मिटटी से पुराव किया जाता है। बिल्डरों ने पानी में ही अपनी अपनी दीवारें बना राखी हैं और वे मनो उसके सूखने का इंतज़ार कर रहे हों। |
